Ambernath morivali fire incident (05.11.2018)
Dear Friends,
Today's fire incident at Ambernath west morivali midc area highlights how much unprepared our systems are.
Firstly, so many chemical and industrial units have cropped up side by side. We do not know how many of them are legal and how many of them are illegal. Are all safety norms etc being followed. Does Ambernath municipal council really check thoroughly whether all rules and regulations are being followed ?
The fire broke out around 2 pm I guess. But people in the evening around 5 pm were still saying on whatsapp that the fire is still being seen. It was not fully extinguished. This proves that we do not have fully prepared system to tackle such sudden incidents. News reports in online media said 4 persons are injured. Senior Inspector K V Chavan confirmed there were total 13 workers and they all started running when fire started. 4 got injured and were taken to nearby hospital and are out of danger.
With all images and videos circulated in whatsapp, it is clear that a major tragedy has been averted. If you all remember similar accident in Dombivali MIDC where 5 persons died and more than 100 people were injured in May 2016. We should not wait for such an incident to happen as there are so many residential areas around. Not only there is risk of accident but everyday lot of pollution is caused by these industrial factories because of which all residents of Ambernath west in and around morivili area as well as Ambernath east in and around b cabin road should strongly object and submit complaint to MPCB, AMC, Aaple sarkar, Twitter regarding industrial factories being very near to residential areas.
ACF twitter has a live video which was tweeted to Prime minister and Chief minister, Maharashtra. We should reply or retweet this tweet and tag everyone so that they also come to know how serious this matter is.

Also lets inform MEDIA : newspaper, news channels, online, radio etc I am asking everyone to write to media because in Ambernath both ruling and opposition party are hand in gloves. There are so many issues in Ambernath, for eg bad roads, corruption, traffic issue, hawkers, pollution but have never heard any political party asking questions to ruling political party.
I have mentioned few twitter handles below. please add more if you know some more.
